There are 15 scholarship sports on the Georgia Southern campus.  Athletes in Action presently has around 100 athletes and coaches in discipleship groups or Bible studies. This past year 37 athletes and coaches went on an AIA mission trip or summer project.

Athletes in Action currently sponsors weekly Bible studies, individual discipleship growth support, mission trips in conjunction with Filters of Hope, Ultimate Training Camp (an intensive, very physically and spiritually challenging, one-week camp held on another college campus in the USA). Athletes play their sport on summer trips as a platform to take the Gospel to the nations. Matt also mentors interns serving on the Georgia Southern campus.

All athletes participating in the mission trips are required to raise their own funding.  Because an athlete’s schedule is controlled by their respective sport, they can’t get a part-time job or spend a lot of time soliciting for funding.

AIA, at Georgia Southern, is completely self-funded.  No other support is received.
